It All Started with Deck Caps
Last spring I told my husband our deck looked plain and I wanted something to brighten it up so it wouldn’t look like everybody else’s deck in the neighborhood. You know how that is in some of the newer sub-divisions; we all look like we live in the same cookie cutter house with the same cookie cutter deck! I’m an artist and I wanted something to look like this was an artist’s house. So he found some great deck caps to go on the deck posts and we carried that out to the fence posts as well. They are made out of wood and though they were beautiful, I custom painted each one and had a blast!
This spring I decided I wanted to do a little more if for no other reason but to have some more yard art fun. I went out and found some wonderful fence finials online that would look great on top of the post caps. Again, I got the wooden ones because I was going to paint them as well. Now the project has been completed and we just mounted the last finial and it looks fantastic! I’ve had several neighbors comment on how colorful and fun our yard is. I don’t dare tell them how easy it was!
